I can't answer that, but he has a stellar background (BA from the U.
of Rochester in my era, then on to Yale in Classics/Linguistics) and
publication list, many co-authored with his brother Nicholas (_Latina
pro popula_, _Zero to Lazy Eight: The Romance of Numbers_, _Alpha to
Omega: The Life & Times of the Greek Alphabet_, _A, B, C, etc.: The
Life & Times of the Roman Alphabet_, and some assorted books on
traveling with children and other topics). A true polymath if ever
there were one. Last time I saw him he was living in Cambridge near
Central Square, and still may be.
