A sign which sadly no longer exists---at the State Police "barracks" on the
Delaware approaches to the Delaware Memorial Bridges, there used to be a big
sign that read:
INFORMATION
POLICE
I know many people who could not pass that sign without imagining Orwellian
interpretations.
