requesting information about obtaining dialect tapes from either Louisiana or Georgia for a theatre production

I doubt very much that it will make much difference to your audiences in
Philadelphia what manner of Southern-sounding dialect your actors speak in, and
even if some of them are from New Orleans, they were probably not alive in the
1930s.

Also, weren't Blanche and her sister from Mississippi? And of course Stanley
is scarcely upper-class.

I'd just listen to the sound track of the original movie version with Marlon
Brando and Vivian Leigh and do what they do.

<< Sir:
I am an actor trained at the National Theatre in England as well as Circle
in the
Square in New York. Currently, I am involved in a production of Tennessee
Williams'
'Suddenly Last Summer', being produced in Philadelphia, PA.
We have been looking for dialect tapes of upper-class dialects from New
Orleans'
in the 1930's, or possible from Georgia, so that the actors, (all from the
North
East of the US, can do justice to the language as written.
Most of the 'theatre' tapes are rather 'general'. Would you be able to
point us
in a direction where we might obtain something more specific?
Thanking you in advance for your attention to our request, I remain,
     Sincerely,
     April Feld
