   I bring you Bliss potatoes.
   They were also at ELI'S, and they're becoming increasingly popular, especially in Terra Chips.  I didn't find a "Bliss potato" history anywhere on the web.  "Bliss potato" is not in DARE and not in OED.


   3 January 1937, NEW YORK TIMES, pg. 91:
   When Red Bliss potatoes arrive in New York from Texas--as they did last week--it is a sure sign that the dealers are pressed for "spuds."  Usually the Texas potato crop is sold in the Middle West; it seldom gets to the Atlantic.

Terra Red Bliss Potato Chips, said to be a savory combination of premium red potatoes, the robust essence of pure olive oil, and a light touch of nature's herbs, have been introduced in Original, Fine Herbs and Sun Dried Tomatoes & Balsamic Vinegar varieties. Manufactured for distribution by Terra Chips, a division of The Hain Food Group, Inc., located in Uniondale, NY, the "all natural gourmet snacks" are each sold in 5 oz. laminated bags. The original variety is tagged, "30 percent less fat as compared to other leading brands of potato chips." The kosher pareve chips also feature a "best before" date stamp.
