   You wanted more cheese?
The revised OED has "manzanilla" olive from OVERLAND MONTHLY AND OUT WEST MAGAZINE of September 1893. That's wrong. The magazine is on the Making of America database as well as the American Periodical Series. It's _March_ 1893. And there's also earlier:

October 1891, OVERLAND MONTHLY AND OUT WEST MAGAZINE, pg. 420 (start--the APS cuts off page numbers):
The best varieties for culture along the coast, where fog is troublesome, are the Mission, Mignola, Morajolo, and Leccino; while in the interior the Mission, Picholine, Manzanillo, Rubra, and others are all successful.

(MISC. & OT: The third edition of THE CHEF'S COMPANION by Elizabeth Riely is advertised on Amazon and will be out next month. It doesn't list any dates or historical citations, and the definitions aren't that strong, but it's just another food dictionary to put on the shelf...I checked the online Monday NEW YORK TIMES, and there's a letter to the editor titled "The Big Apple, Alone." It wasn't my life story--ed.)
