   DARE has 1849 for "rice corn," a variety of Indian corn.  DARE says it's "used for popcorn," for you popcorn people out there.

   _Rice Corn_.  An ear of Rice Corn was exhibited by Mr. B. Southworth of Winthrop.  This is a curious variety of corn having a small elongated semi-transparent kernel.  Its qualities and uses we are unaquainted with.
