Colleagues,
Can anyone help this reporter out? Please respond directly to her,
not to me. My knowledge of this area is nil.

I am a reporter in upstate New York interested in writing a story on
the "North Country" or "Adirondack" dialect and its origins. It might
not be a dialect, but it is an accent so strong as to be almost
unintelligible at times. So, is there anyone around who could speak
about this? I think it has to do with French Canadian influence and
isolation within the confines of the Adirondack State Park for a
century or so.
