Greetings from after a two-supermarket tour of the German Namibian town of Swakopmund.
Found in the supermarket was Jennifer Lopez on the cover of South African ELLE. You can't cheat on the wife anywhere.

Bierwurst...
Russian: sausage made from coarsely chopped pork and seasoned with salt and paprika
("Russians" was spotted at both supermarkets and at least one "hot dog" joint--ed.)

Pg. 64: POTJIEKOS
Although typically South African, potjiekos is thought to have originated in Europe during the 80 Year Was (1568-1648), when a shortage of food during the siege of Leiden forced the inhabitants to cook almost anything that they could lay their hands on in one communal pot. The South African pioneers adopted this method of cooking, not due to a shortage of food, but because it was convenient and it suited their lifestyle of travelling and hunting.
