Some time ago I offered $200 on Google Answers for a pre-1938 citation for
"the butler did it."  I was very precise that I would only pay for a
correct and verifiable documented citation.  One of their crack
researchers found a web site with earlier evidence, but the web site was
clearly a joke.  Google said I had to pay and I had trouble getting
through to them to fix the error.  Finally, I saw that my credit card
information on file with them was outdated and I just let it rest.
