On the y'all question:
By way of comparison: the Australian version of "y'all" is "youse"
/ju:z/ (via Irish English). Originally plural, it is now used in
non-standard colloquial speech as a singular as well. The vowel is
commonly reduced to schwa:
        how y&z goin'? (how are you?) - either singular or plural addressee
