inxodus

On August 24th the (Lansing, MI) "City Pulse"
(www.lansingcitypulse.com) carried a story about gas-price driving
habits which indicated that some people were going back into the city:

"In recent months, higher gas prices in the capitol area have
accelerated a lot of salutory trends: the use of hybrid vehicles,
conversion to alternative fuels, bicycle commuting, the "inxodus"
from the car-dependent exurbs and suburbs to livable, walkable
cities, and use of public transit."

I have not seen "inxodus" before and offer it to those of you who
seek new words (hoping not to feel your wrath when you reveal to me
that it has been recorded from July 2005).

Second, how to pronounce it? /'ingks at d@s/? I guess the 'x' has to be
there, cause some might not see that 'inodus' was a "joke" on
"exodus," right?
