1960 _Geografiska Annaler_ 42: 16 (JSTOR)  Careful balancing will be
required in the interpretation of the warmth of paleo-climates from one
region to another.  If performed successfully, such an interpretation will
distinguish redistribution of warmth over the planet from the more primary
change in the heat budget of the earth and its atmosphere which results in
true global warming or cooling.
