Women learn how to pierce the 'polycarbonate ceiling' in chemistry careers
Life-changing results are being achieved by the Committee on the
Advancement of Women Chemists (COACh) for scientists in many fields
beyond chemistry. University of Oregon chemist Geri Richmond reports in
the Sept. 22 issue of Nature that the organization's mentoring programs
will expand abroad. COACh also is introducing new workshops to address
the needs of minority women and to involve men in efforts to remove
gender barriers in the sciences.
