Eggcorn, or: Telling on myself

In a discussion on my extended family's email list, we were discussing
my youngest daughter's newly-discovered (mild) allergies to dairy and
eggs. In the discussion, Day before yesterday i produced the following
eggcorn:

"I wonder if her dislike of [cheese] was triggered by her
reaction to it--i mean, food avoidance is real, even when
it's an irrational connection. I couldn't eat beef jerky
for years after a particularly violent spout of vomiting
                                           ^^^^^
that occurred, almost certainly unrelated to the jerky,
while i was eating a piece of it."

The target was "bout of vomiting", but "spout of vomiting" makes very
real, though rather disgusting, sense...

The fun thing is that i didn't notice i'd done this until others replied
to my post, but nobody remarked on it being incorrect in any way (and
believe me, my family is altogether happy to jump on each other's
grammer/speling errors).
