On the subject of /oi/ - -> /ai/, has anyone looked at "coyote", which is
spelled as if pronounced /ko yo tee/ (the correct Spanish is /ko YO tei/
but which is pronounced /kai o tee/ or /kai ot/.

OT:  is there a difference between an eggcorn and a mondegreen?
