"City of Roses" (1872); "Change the name of Arkansas" (1909, 1912)

Little Rock, Arkansas wants a new nickname, one like "the Big Apple."
"City of Roses" appears to date from at least 1872.
"Change the name of Arkansas" was discussed here before, but here are 1909  
and 1912 citations.
