Speaking of the William Tell Overture, does anyone else recall the punchline:

The joke may predate Legman. Well, it goes back to the '40's, at
least, and was attributed to Bob Hope. He once had a reputation as a
teller of risqué - well, risqué for the '40's, anyroad* - jokes.

*Back in the '80's, there was Brit TV sitcom(?) called "Brass," in
which people used "anyroad" instead of "anyway."
