Two eggcornish idioms, both (as it happens) from yesterday:

My wife remarked that somebody was "going to have a heyday" She has used that construction maybe a hundred time in the last three decades--never (as far as I can remember) "have a field day."

A student's notebook referred to an individual as "a 'preacher's wife' in every essence of the term."
