How about "firebug" and "jitterbug"? Re the latter, cf. blues verse,
sung by a woman:
I got me a eighteen-year-old _jitterbug_
And they all get jellis when they see us hug
Lookin' at me wit' they faces frown'
I cain' he'p it, if they jes' ain't down
