Harold Bloom hates it too : a "tendentious burlesque" that won't be readable past 2010.

I used to hate Catch-22 myself because, having spent my service life
as an enlisted man, I couldn't get ready for a book that claimed that
_officers_ had any reason worthy of consideration to be "nervous in
the service."

I believe I have heard the query, from a coffee vendor, "How do you take it?" but "How do you want it?" would sound a lot more normal.

Everybody says, "How hard it is that we have to die"---a strange
complaint to come from the mouths of people who have had to live.
-----
Whoever has lived long enough to find out what life is knows how deep
a debt of gratitude we owe to Adam, the first great benefactor of our
race. He brought death into the world.
