OT: Bronx

In the World Book Dictionary (c. 1984, back in the days when this was a
Thorndike-Barnhart dictionary) Bronx is given only one vowel choice (the o
in hot) while the word honk (as in honk the horn) may be either as the o
in hot or the a in all--usually symbolized in TB dictionaries as an o with
a circumflex.

Is  that what Zirinskas is getting at?
