21 March 1897, Philadelphia (PA) Inquirer, second section, pg. 17 ad:
"A FOOD FOR THE KINGS!" "A KING of Foods!" An active brain had made another
wonderful discovery. "German Peanut Butter: for peanut sandwiches. "A Food for
the Kings!" "A King of Foods!" rich in albumen, of which is contains 50 per
cent., with 20 per cent. of fat and non-nitrogenous expotive (?-ed.) matters,
recommended by all eminent physicians for indigestion, dyspepsia,
consumption and the table. Your doctor will tell you that German Peanut Butter will
make you sleep soundly; it will make you fat; it will make you strong; it is
healthful, refreshing, invigorating and delicious. Eat all you can of it, spread
it on bread, spread it on crackers for evening luncheon; for picnic parties,
for the tourist "German Peanut Butter" has no equal. 15 and 25 per jar.
