Our versions of the verse were:

   Glory, glory, hallelujah!
   Teacher hit me with a ruler!
   Shot her in the butt with a rotten cocoanut
   And she don't teach no more.

And:

   Glory, glory, hallelujah!
   Teacher hit me with a ruler!
   Met her at the door with a loaded .44
   And she don't teach no more.

I remember we spent a great deal of time coming up with more, but
none have stuck with me. More verses are here:

We also had "Old Smoky," which is kind of surprising, since the song
was clearly decades out of any kind of fashion (this being the
Seventies and Eighties). The *only* versions of the song we knew were
the satirical ones. I remember hearing the original years later and
being a bit befuzzled.
