Another kind of buddy

I'm familiar with it. I can't recall when or where I first heard it,
though. Stabbing in the dark: Ferris Bueller's Day Off? One or both of
the TV sitcoms based on it?

Was it the old TV sitcom, Father Knows Best, that had children called
"Bud" and "Sis"?
