"cigarette bat" referred to as "schoocher"?

Well apparently it did come from "schooch."

And I quote:

"I first heard the term from a buddy I worked with in T.O. We've
discussed it a few times since and it's just something him and his
buddy always called it..."you know, you just take a little scootch,
just to get you by...." or "hey man, wanna go for a quick scootch..."
It came in handy for the guys who liked to smoke at work. I wish I
could give you more insight as to the origin of the word but I really
don't think there's much more to it than that. Just a couple of
potheads who didn't know what to call it, so they just made up a word."
