"Student teach" is a little peculiar, right?

Sure, it seems a natural back-formation to those of us who've seen it and
heard it for a few decades, but where are the analogous expressions? [No
doubt I'm missing some in my ignorance, but still ....]

Next week I'll be a student teacher. > Next week I'll student teach.

OK, so what about ...

Next week I'll be a trainee waiter. > Next week I'll trainee wait.

Next week I'll be an apprentice welder. > Next week I'll apprentice weld.

Next week I'll be a gentleman farmer. > Next week I'll gentleman farm.

Or even ...

Next week I'll be a student driver. > Next week I'll student drive.
