Might that be termed starewear? And might the wearers, who seem bound
to be show-alls, be called bare rabids? (With apologies, of course, to
Uncle Remus.)

In many instances, such 'wear' is purchased more to be seen in (not to put
too fine a point on it) rather than to actually get wet in.
When such gear is worn in places not even remotely near a swimmin' hole,
beach or a Jacuzzi, it might appropriately be referred to as swim where.

Lifeguards stare all day long at people of all ages in bathing suits...I
mean, "swimsuits."
