PPP "retrofit"

Heard on  the Weather Channel:

"Between now and the time that these [approaches to the Golden Gate
Bridge] get _retrofit_ is about ten years."


I'd say "get _retrofitted_." But then, I also say "shitted, fitted,
pitted," etc.
