"Double-Tap" usually means two well-placed sequential pistol shots, as
in an assasination or execution. (see, for example, Steve Martini's
novel of that title).
I just today got an email from a Sergeant First Class, notifying of an
essay contest for MLK day, at the army base at which I work, with the
following:
"For some of you this may be a double-tap, but for the rest of you,
please distribute accordingly. "
