FIFA thinks snoods could be a danger to players' necks

I'm not sure; they were also around in UK fashion in the 1980s, though I'm
not sure they've been around constantly since then. See here, for example:

In fact, until Victor's mention of hair-nets, this was the only definition
I had for 'snood'. I see from the OED that it has a long history as a word
for that sort of hair-net, but I'm a child of the '80's!
