A minute ago, an American talking head said on the BBC: "They guy's
made five X in five years" meaning "The guy has quintupled his
investment in five years," the guy being to a Russian investor in
Facebook. "Five X" is pronounced "five eks." He used "x" three of four
times in the space of a couple of minutes in this way.
