Maybe it's word-order

[Wilson Gray]

"He was cheating with another woman _on me_"

I don't know why, but the above strikes me as, somehow, exotic and
worthy of note. OTOH,

"He was cheating _on me_ with another woman"

sounds perfectly ordinary.
