The process of revision must be getting pretty close to this. Since the
actual "Siamese twins" seem to have been first exhibited in 1829, there
won't be much room to antedate 1831.
A 2 *c.* Siamese coupling, a form of coupling used for fire-hose. Also Siamese
connection.
1891 *Scribner's

* Jan. 63/2 The siamese coupling, by which the power of two or more
engines may be united on one hose.
***

Those who attended at the fire were highly pleased in witnessing the
performance of the Fire Plugs. There was attached to the Plug at the corner
of Canal-street, a "*Siamese*," or Branch screw; and upwards of *one
thousand* feet of hose were put on. *** We are happy to find that the
advantage of this Reservoir has been so fully tested.
