stir-fry crazy

In today's Salon posting an Oxford historian David Anderson is quoted
as saying, "To portray the Obama family as being part of Mau Mau is
stir-fry crazy."  I'm familiar with "stir-crazy," but not with this
use of "stir-fry."  Google shows 279k raw hits, most of which deal
with cooking, but some clearly have Anderson's sense.
