Antedating of "Graphic Novel"

The OED's first use of the term "graphic novel" is dated 1978.  According to Wikipedia, "In its earliest known citation, Richard Kyle used the term 'graphic novel' in CAPA-ALPHA #2 (November 1964), a newsletter published by the Comic Amateur Press Alliance, and again in Kyle's magazine Fantasy Illustrated #5 (Spring 1966)."  The Wikipedia article refers to a number of other pre-1978 usages as well.
