Me, too. I learned the [ErjudaIt] pronunciation in high school, at the
same time that I learned "clandestine" as klan DEStin [,kl&n'dEstIn].
Since then, I've Brits say KLANdih stine. However, until today, I had
no idea that there were competing pronunciations of _erudite_.
