Those were the good old days! The 'Poon is still my sole source for

_deadbone_ = "impotence"

Unfortunately, I can't recall the year - some time in the '70's - in
which I read the story containing the word with this meaning.

In May of 1969, the legendary Vaughn Bode began to publish a comic
strip called "Deadbone." But, according to the official Bode site,

"_Deadbone_ was a four-mile-high, volcanic mountain …"

hence, obviously not a word for impotence.
