"Would Have Taken Better Care ..."

Best wishes to all for the New Year!

Can anyone provide any pre-1966 usages of the expression "If I'd known I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself," or variants thereof?  I asked this query in 2004 and received no antedatings squarely on point, but that was in the pre-Garson, pre-Hugo era.
