Linguistic boundaries [was: A novel notion of "balance"]

I did a quick scan of the map Ben linked to, and didn't see any obvious
university influences (New Haven and Storrs). Of course, people who move
to these places for school or jobs are as likely to root for the
Cardinals or Cubs as the Yankees or Red Sox. Bristol (ESPN) didn't seem
all that different from the surrounding area, as well.
