Good memory, Jon! Yes, that's true. He was the guest of honor at the
banquet celebrating the initiation of the "line" that I was part of into
the frat, Alpha Phi=Fie Alpha. He's also a native St. Louisan and, at the
time, 1957, his first book, _Corner Boy_, had just been published. So, his
presence made the dinner and subsequent social doings a really gigantic
deal, at the time.
