I'd put metatheses of the "calvary"/"cavalry" or "irrevalent" kind into a different bag from the intrusive L of "the reason why(-l-)it works", "draw(l)ing", or "how(l) it works", or the intrusive R of "I saw(r) a film today oh boy" (from the Beatles' A Day in the Life--an example I hadn't noticed before reading the wiki entry on intrusive/linking R). I think my reluctance to collapse the two phenomena is that I suspect a difference in motivation.
