[Ads-l] It's an intrusive L!

I would take "calvary" (in the mounted troops sense) to be largely the result of unconscious "folk" etymology (so-called).

Isn't it mainly Christians who say "calvary" in that sense?

I'd put metatheses of the "calvary"/"cavalry" or "irrevalent" kind into =
a different bag from the intrusive L of "the reason why(-l-)it works", =
"draw(l)ing", or "how(l) it works", or the intrusive R of "I saw(r) a =
film today oh boy" (from the Beatles' A Day in the Life--an example I =
hadn't noticed before reading the wiki entry on intrusive/linking R).  I =
think my reluctance to collapse the two phenomena is that I suspect a =
difference in motivation.
