A friend of mine recently told me that the Seattle vaad has ruled that berries are not kosher because they might have bugs in them.

However that may be and FWIW, the Va’ad Harabanim of Greater Seattle website does have a list of berry farms at http://seattlevaad.org/kosher-portfolio/ <http://seattlevaad.org/kosher-portfolio/>.

Wikipedia has an entry on vaad (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaad <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaad>), saying it’s a council, but the online Oxford Dictionaries do not. Wiktionary does not have it for English, but does have a Hebrew entry at ⁨https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/ועד#Hebrew⁩ <⁨https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/%D7%95%D7%A2%D7%93#Hebrew⁩>.
