My father (*1925)  recalled a Sanitary Grocery Store near his Seat Pleasant
MD home, after he was shown a mysterious family photo of a grocer standing
in front of such a store. Probably absorbed by Safeway, after New Negro
Alliance v. Sanitary Grocery Co., 303 US 552 (1938).  (Not in Wp's "List of
defunct retailers of the United States")
