DemonRats, demorats
Judge Jeanine Pirro recently taught me <DemonRats> /ˈdimǝnˌræts/. Soon
afterwards, my articulation of it came out as /ˈdɛmoˌræts/, which I found
as better-sounding, closer to the original, and conjuring up <demolition>
and <demo> (demonstrator model, a product used for demonstration,
frequently fobbed off as brand-new); and, as UrbanDic points out, the <c>
is silent.
