1965 _Middletown_ (Ohio) _Journal_ 1 Mar. 4/2 (NewspaperArchive)  The latest Pot statistics compiled through the services of the Hippie Dope Exchange, will be printed in each issue of the Marijuana Newsletter.

NOTE:  This item is quoting earlier usage in the Marijuana Newsletter.  It is difficult to disambiguate the Berkeley countercultural sense of the word "hippie" from the older "hipster" sense.  For what it's worth, the Marijuana Newsletter had at least one San Francisco-area editor (Peter Orlovsky).
