[Ads-l] Online Searchable Yiddish Corpus Now Available

While we’re talking about Jewish languages, I have been meaning to post this for a few weeks.

The Yiddish Book Center has just released a new corpus of over 10,00 Yiddish books that have been
scanned, OCR’d and indexed and are available for search purposes.

It comes with an onscreen keyboard for those who do not easily have access to Hebrew characters on their devices.

I think this will be a valuable tool for those who are interested in the (relatively) recent history of Yiddish.

I’m afraid I don’t know what the 10,000 books are, but the search engine does appear to work.
