I find that the following also come in handy sometimes, mostly because I
sense that some of the newspapers in these collections haven't appeared in
some of the better known databases.
Georgia Historic Newspapers: https://nam12.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fgahistoricnewspapers.galileo.usg.edu%2F&data=05%7C01%7Cfred.shapiro%40YALE.EDU%7C519e60adfd3a478fbdbf08da59621a89%7Cdd8cbebb21394df8b4114e3e87abeb5c%7C0%7C0%7C637920575136374271%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=9q%2F9C%2BYbBgniyk80M2I6CAELTy%2BlmZ4Kq62mRSASjZg%3D&reserved=0
A similar one for Texas: https://nam12.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Ftexashistory.unt.edu%2F&data=05%7C01%7Cfred.shapiro%40YALE.EDU%7C519e60adfd3a478fbdbf08da59621a89%7Cdd8cbebb21394df8b4114e3e87abeb5c%7C0%7C0%7C637920575136374271%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=3MXncmz0ziPnGb65zqvDWy8LIff9%2B86OkkBh7JGMmuc%3D&reserved=0
California Digital Newspaper Collection: https://nam12.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fcdnc.ucr.edu%2F&data=05%7C01%7Cfred.shapiro%40YALE.EDU%7C519e60adfd3a478fbdbf08da59621a89%7Cdd8cbebb21394df8b4114e3e87abeb5c%7C0%7C0%7C637920575136374271%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=GsBMFgFPBYaf0L3x1rlC%2Bv41C6%2B8u4zgpgEdQt6Dvls%3D&reserved=0
Hoosier State Chronicles: https://nam12.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fnewspapers.library.in.gov%2F&data=05%7C01%7Cfred.shapiro%40YALE.EDU%7C519e60adfd3a478fbdbf08da59621a89%7Cdd8cbebb21394df8b4114e3e87abeb5c%7C0%7C0%7C637920575136374271%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=VrXsMeHZTZAtWcI6pKj0M38B9%2BOVKLhBsa9OfWhuj8Y%3D&reserved=0
(TBH, poking around to see what each state has to share for its historic
newspapers sometimes helps.)
Yours in competitive antedating,
Bonnie
