Probably unrelated, but just as hard to explain as "jasbo" itself:

1910 _Fort Collins [Co.] Express_ (Sept. 15) 9: Miss Hazel Kirk...owns a
large stock farm at Jasbo, Kentucky, where many thoroughbred horses are
raised.
