YouTube has a clip from the 1942 movie “Yankee Doodle Dandy”. The
actor James Cagney is shown reading a copy of “Variety”. The recreated
cover displays “STIX NIX HIX PIX!” which was a variant of the actual
headline “STICKS NIX HICK PIX”. Also, the recreated headline ends with
an exclamation mark which was absent in the original.

I am assuming that the clip on YouTube is accurate. In the coming
years it will be possible for many people to forge a clip using the
newly introduced generative AI systems for audio and video. The new
clip will look and sound somewhat similar to the genuine clip, but it
will be possible to substitute almost any headline on the paper, any
actor, or any audio track et cetera.

Please recall with me these halcyon days of naïve believability even
as we are living through them.
